Benefits:

You can see the decoder address in the actual block.  With future JMRI updates you also get reporting for loco Speed, Direction, Fuel & Water Levels, Quality of Service and more.

The below PDF link gives you the settings for the BDL168.  These may be altered for different results but some changes such as option #9 will cause the BDL168 to report incorrectly.
