Built-in the early 1970s, these 50’ two-bay Airslide hoppers with Barber Roller Bearing trucks featured the GATX “Service Driven” logo. These cars were specially designed with an air-permeable layer inside the bays that could help loosen fine-grained commodities that would often settle en route, like powdered sugar, thus making unloading easier.
